We run the Pay it Forward benefit tournament a couple of times each year to raise funds for local youth organizations. The tournaments offer friendly competition to kids and adults. The focus is on learning from the competition experience and coming together to support our community.

Entry fees are $20 donations with all proceeds going directly to support Pueblo youth.

My boys absolutely love Coach Denise and the variety of training techniques they learn in such creative and fun ways! I also love how she incorporates skills on using effective communication and bully proofing strategies, which creates such a respectful and positive environment at class!

Coach Denise, is amazing with kids, from the minute we walked in the door my son felt welcomed and comfortable with her. We now have 2 kids training with her,  plus myself. My kids are gaining confidence and strength all while having fun.
- Chad Cline

The environment that you have created is very professional and laid back at the same time. I felt welcomed from the first time I walked in! I really love the Grindhouse! I enjoy your constant problem solving method of teaching…the gym is great, everyone is friendly, and the place is very clean!
- Austin Barlow

Loved the communication! Made me feel very comfortable and less nervous.
- Destini Miller

My kiddos love going to class. They do other activities right now but this is their favorite. We do the 10 punch classes as we go and that makes it so convenient. It’s perfect for our family schedule. They leave class with so much knowledge. The one on one help is phenomenal. The coach is very experienced and great with the kids. Highly recommend!!

This is such an amazing gym to train at! Even if you are not in the Pueblo West area, it's worth the drive (I live in Colorado Springs). Denise is a wonderful professor and she treats you like family! All her students do the same. Definitely stop by - you’ll get some great rolls and instruction!
- Sarah Swiataek

Denise runs an incredible gym at Grindhouse Grappling Academy. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a program that is the best in the area. She utilizes the best training practices in sports science to ensure students and practitioners are afforded the very best way to develop the skill of grappling. The training facility is great, the mats are spotless and clean. Anyone in the area would be wasting their time training at any other gym.
- Kyle Kinstley

Professor Denise is a technical, versatile grappler with ample competition and teaching experience.  She incorporates techniques from other grappling arts like wrestling and judo into her curriculum, so her students can expect to develop an adaptable, well-rounded game.  In addition to her grappling and teaching chops, Denise is just a really kind person and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all grapplers.
- Taylor Wilson

Professor Denise is a phenomenal instructor. She welcomed my friends and I with open arms. It was no surprise when Denise informed me that she has a background in education. The way she articulates her instruction makes it easy for students of all skill levels to understand. She not only explains what to do but also the why. Furthermore, she explains that there is never just one answer to a problem and to keep an open mind to explore your options.
- Dennis Vo

What truly sets Denise apart is her unwavering dedication to cultivating a positive gym culture. The environment she has cultivated stands as a testament to her commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that students from all walks of life not only learn but thrive. It's a refreshing approach that distinguishes Grindhouse as a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of their background.
