Family and Beginner Friendly
Nogi Grappling For Ages 3.5+

What is Grappling?

Grappling is an umbrella term for the non-striking aspects of combat sports that incorporates Nogi Jiu Jitsu, submission grappling, wrestling, and Judo. In our highly supportive classes, you will develop skills from standing through ground engagements. Our approach emphasizes effect over aesthetic. Grindhouse students of all ages learn the "whys" of effective grappling and practice the "hows" in ways that align with their individual goals. We personalize instruction using widely accepted, modern coaching practices.

Grappling offers many benefits and opportunities for competition. Hobbyists find it to be a fun way to exercise, destress, and build community. Competitive people have the opportunity to compete in local, regional, and national tournaments. Both kids and adults will improve their range of movement, increase agility, and develop strength. Coaches work diligently to facilitate classes that are lively, fun, and doable for a wide range of body types and fitness levels.

Grindhouse Youth Classes

Jiu Jitsu is a great activity for kids because it helps to develop discipline, confidence, and physical fitness. In Jiu Jitsu, kids learn to defend themselves and to use leverage and technique to overcome larger opponents. This can help to boost their self-esteem and give them the skills and confidence they need to handle difficult situations. In addition, Jiu Jitsu training keeps kids physically active and mentally engaged.

We provide high quality, engaging instruction using a mix of developmentally appropriate games and live application of technique. Kids are monitored closely to maintain a safe training environment. Our curriculum includes life skills components as well.
